Westrocon head of sales Luis Dancuart says they use the SAP solutions platform and add our IP to create bespoke industry solutions that will best suit their client's needs.

With only a few weeks left before the inaugural HR Indaba, the anticipation from partners is palpable. In this article, we speak to Westrocon Seidor head of sales Luis Dancuart about why he is looking forward to the event.

What is Westrocon Seidor, how long has it been around and what was the reason for starting the company?

"Westrocon was established 10 years ago by our MD Martin van Wyk. Our aim is to service the SME enterprises and provide mature SAP technology services to support growth and achieve operational excellence. We focus on HR, Supply Chain Management, Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing and Retail companies. We see the SME  space as the economic backbone of South Africa, and we are proud to have such a wide range of SME clients where we provide expert solutions and services.

"Our aim is to decrease operational costs, with cloud-based Solutions, we focus on managing operational costs to allow for our clients to focus on revenue generating activities. This Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, is far less complex than traditional on-premise solutions which require large setup and maintenance budgets. We use the SAP solutions platform and add our IP to create bespoke industry solutions that will best suit our client’s needs. If you are a company that has a turnover of more than R50 million per annum and are still working with siloed solutions and is serious about growth, then come to speak to us."

How do you differentiate yourselves from other competitors in your space?

"We are an SAP Platinum Partner and through our international network with United VARS we are able to provide a wide variety of services across multiple SAP products across different global territories. Our key differentiating factor is that we only focus on a specific niche of industries, we build long-lasting trusting relationships with our partners while adding value to their entire value chain. We have found that is much better to specialise and become experts in a limited variety of fields that to claim to be able to be a solution for everyone."

Why have you signed up for the HR Indaba and what should attendees look forward to seeing from you at the event?

"We want to share our experiences and our approach to solve the challenges that HR practitioners are facing now. We are in a new age of HR and this is the first time that we have multiple generations working in teams trying to solve problems while achieving growth and, to this end, companies need to engage differently to add value and align expectations. We have unique solutions aimed at unique problems that we are facing in Africa and have developed innovative ways to help organisations engage with their people.

"One of the big solutions we use is SAP® SuccessFactors. Across the Seidor group, we have over 80 successful implementations and are looking forward to sharing this experience and knowledge to our partners in Africa."

What would you say is the biggest challenge facing the HR profession?

"The biggest challenge that we are facing is That Companies still use old metrics and channels to measure and engage with their employees. We need to change our interactions to align our team’s goals with the goals of the organisation. At the HR Indaba we will show you real life scenarios which have assisted our customers to engage with their workforce and align to their daily activities to the overall strategy of the company while developing meaningful career paths.

"Managing staff and ensuring that we communicate effectively to all our employees is about being able to connect equally with the Baby Boomers, Generation Xs, Millennials and the Generation Zs. For the younger generation, technology is natural, we need to bring facebook-type applications to the workplace, this simply makes it easier for you to engage with the entire organisation and that is what needs to happen in order to reduce the high trend of high-employee turnover, which is currently at the highest level globally."
